- About
Every child has the right to a safe and comfortable place they can call home.
In Tanzania, there are over 1 million orphans and 437,500 street children. These shocking numbers have led to severely overcrowded orphanages, and in turn the rise of unregistered establishments where vulnerable children live in squalor, and at risk of exploitation and abuse.
Kijana Kwanza is nearing completion of our new Children’s Home in Moshi, through which we will:
- Provide emergency shelter for up to 120 children aged 5-12 years who are orphaned, abandoned or at risk of exploitation and abuse
- Meet both the immediate and long-term physical, mental, emotional and social needs of vulnerable children through the provision of shelter and security, food and clothing, healthcare and education
- Support family reunification wherever possible so that children can live within the community in safe and supported home environments
But before we can welcome the many children in need of our care, we need your support to furnish their new home.

We need to furnish all the bedrooms, classrooms, the kitchen, library, games room, office spaces and outdoor play area.
Any donation you can make today will directly support a child in need to feel safe, to thrive and to fulfil their potential.
- £100 – Provides essential kitchen utensils to support daily meals.
- £250 – Furnishes a child’s sleeping space with a bunk bed, two mattresses, bedsheets, a blanket, and pillows.
- £500 – Provides eight sturdy desks for children to learn and study
- £1,000 – Provides 40 dining room chairs, ensuring children have a comfortable place to eat and gather.
- £2,500 – Sponsor a children's dormitory, complete with a recognition plaque.
- £5,000 – Sponsor a dedicated area, such as: Kitchen, Dining Area, Indoor Play Area, Social Welfare Office, Computer Room (All sponsorships include a plaque in recognition of your support.)
Thank you for your invaluable support.

In addition to student sponsorship, we offer services like English and computer classes, a Study Café, hardship grants, interest-free loans, and community events to support children, young people, and families in Moshi.
